Jonathan Chew
Exercise Physiologist
M.Clin.Ex.Phys, B.Sc. (Exercise and Sports Science), AEP, AES, ESSA
Jonathan graduated with his Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) from Edith Cowan University before completing his Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Curtin University. He is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) with Exercise & Sports Science Australia.
Jonathan specialises in bridging the gap between clinical rehabilitation and everyday function. With over a decade immersed in strength and conditioning coaching, personal training and clinical exercise physiology, he understands that a program shouldn't just manage a condition, it should rebuild strength, confidence and independence. His foundation in performance and injury management runs deep — holding an Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Level 1 accreditation, a Certified Personal Trainer qualification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM CPT), a Sports Medicine Australia Level 1 Sports Trainer accreditation, and certification in sports massage.
Jonathan's approach is built around; evidence-based exercise prescription, chronic disease and pain management, NDIS and Workers Compensation rehabilitation, falls prevention for older adults, and paediatric and adolescent development programs, including work with children living with neurological conditions and mental health challenges. This blend of clinical training and hands-on strength coaching means his programs are as grounded in performance principles as they are in evidence-based rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Jonathan draws on a competitive sailing background — representing at multiple ISAF Youth World Championships and the SEA Games — and now stays on the water for leisure, windsurfing, wingfoiling, kitesurfing and sailing in his own time.
